8 Tabouret Tournant by Le Corbusier, Jeanneret and Perriand for Cassina.
The 8 Tabouret Tournant is a circular revolving stool with a thick, padded seat that is held up by a steel frame that incorporates a swivel mechanism. The stool responds to different uses and is a variation of the 7 Fauteuil Tournant chair.
The stool was designed in 1928 and presented at the 1929 Salon d’Automne in Paris. The design remains current and contemporary today, mainly due to Le Corbusier’s conviction that the binomial shape/function value must be expressed in the three-dimensional manifestation of any daily used and useful object.
The stool was previously called the LC8 stool.
