Søborg steel base chair by Børge Mogensen for Fredericia.
The Søborg chair was designed by Børge Mogensen in 1950 as a functional and elegant plywood shell chair that could be efficiently produced using contemporary machining technology.
In 1952 Mogensen adapted his design to include a steel frame option, bringing his characteristic finesse and craft to a material he did not commonly employ.
The Soborg chair is also available with an upholstered seat, or upholstered seat and back in the ‘Product range’ section below. Also available with wooden frame here.
Optional felt glides are available.
